Question on DLPT

I am scheduled to take the DLAB on August 12th, I am already fluent in French and Italian and when I asked one of my recruiters about it he genuinely seems to think the DLPT and the DLAB are the same thing. My question is should I push to take the DLPT before BC or just take it once I'm in?

The DLAB measures your ability on how well you can learn a language while the DLPT determines the proficiency of a language that you already speak. When I went through boot camp they asked us if any of us were fluent in a foreign language and allowed us to take the DLPT if we were.
