So I have searched about a bit, and found here the general attitude that I've always held which is be a Marine because you want to be a Marine but don't come looking for the money. However, and minding that I wasn't looking for it, but since my recruiter brought it up, I was just curious. I'm going for arabic cryptologic linguist and my recruiter mentioned something about $25K bonus for it? Is it really in demand right now and will it apply to both reserve and active? Furthermore in my net search I for one found nothing as far as a bonus goes, but I did find the mos. So the question here is, how come for the other branches the cryptologic linguist civilian counterpart is translator, but for the Marines the counterpart is radio operator? Again just dumb curiosity, but what all has bonuses for it or where could I find that myself? Because I was long under the impression that the Marines didn't do that.
