View Full Version : New IST Standards
I got some information while working at the office. The Marine Corps is raising IST standards:
OLD
1.5 Mile in under 13:30
44 Crunches in 2 Minutes
2 Pull-Ups
NEW
1.5 Mile in under 12:00
55 Crunches in 2 Minutes
3 Pull-Ups
Out.
How about this as a standard.
1.5mi run in 10:00 minutes
100 Crunches in 2 minutes
20 Pull-Ups

That rumor was going around when I was a poolee. (A year ago) I'll wait until I see some sort of paperwork on that before I believe it.

I heard they were moving the crucible to the 1st week of boot camp.
I heard there was a long thread on this very subject a few weeks ago.

Good investigative skills, Poolee Cock Face.
I did not intend to start a rumor. My recruiter literally told me this today after getting off of the phone with the OPSO. It isn't a rumor at my RSS. Seeing as this wasn't a question, and thinking that I had current news on the subject, I didn't think I would need to search for it.
I too, was told about this.
Thought I heard it was 13:00 run, now 12.

lol...
So many "I heard this, I heard he had a big cock than I" etc etc..
No point, you should be physical fit in the first place to even have a shot at our Corps.
When you see those new "standards", laugh and go "3 pulls 55 crunches? 3 mile in 12, aint got **** on me, good to go"..

Hah 3 in 12 would be full out Olympic sprinting for 3 miles!
1 minute laps! :D
Theres a few Lts and Captains who can run 3 miles in 15 here. They look like gazelles. Im happy with my 27:59 run time.
I MSgt. Jones about the change in IST and he says it must be false because he would have heard about it, and he hasn't.. besides, forget standards, they just set a minimum...like you need just enough of this to pass.. always shoot for the maximum and beyond.. that's the best way to look at it..
latest IST:
Run:9:40
Pull-Ups: 14
Sit ups:145
