I've been talking to a Marine Corp recruiter and I'm interested in joining. I know most recruiters don't always to the ''whole truth'', so I was wondering if someone here can help me.
First of all, I want to persue a officer career at one point in my military career (Not to late though) - I know I would need a college degree, so how long does it take to earn a B.S. while in service? -- Even if I earn the degree, is there a low chance I'll become an officer?
Another question has to do with MOS. I wanted to do infantry, but the recruiter told me I might have a hard time finding a good job if I leave the Corp. So now, I'm looking at the following:
-Intelligence
-Firefighting (Chemical, Biological, Nuclear)
-Combat Engineer
-Smallarms Ordnance
Could anyone tell me how competitive the fields are for rank, and a good follow-up civilian career?
THANKS for reading, I know its alot, but I want to be sure before I sign up to be a poole.
