I as well swore in yesterday 20090202 at Fort Lee in Virginia. My current ship date is 20090511, but that may change to 20090518. We'll see. My MOS is 1371 Combat Engineer. I'm very excited.

For Active Duty applicants, when you sign your contract you're not actually guaranteed a specific MOS, you're signing a contract option that guarantees your field. For example, 03XX, you're guaranteed to be Infantry if you qualify but you couldn't pick 0341 out of the box. That comes at SOI.
Reserve applicants contract a specific MOS, and get it as long as they qualify.

May 11th is my ship date too. Maybe we'll ship out the same day. I can count on the fingers of 1 hand minus 3 fingers how many people I know shipping out on the 11th.
