Question??03xx

So my recruiter and I were playing a little basketball and he tells me I got 03xx as a MOS. I know what a basic infantry man is(I have studied war and the military ours and other countries all my life) but does this leave me open to go 0311?

You'll find out whether you'll get 0311 or not when you're at ITB. At ITB you could end up getting 0311 but you could also get chosen as a 0331, 0341, 0351, or 0352

This is an appropriate place for me to ask my question as well. I'm going to be a reservist, and my recruiter told me specifically that I'm going to be 0311. Would I still be eligible to be involuntarily given a different MOS? Does me being a reservist have anything to do with it?

I usually would just assume but I know a friend who is the same unit I'm going to be in, and he said his recruiter gave him a specific MOS as well and that's what he got at the end of SOI, he didn't have another option.

As a reservist, you can have a specific MOS in your contract. Active duty is when you get 03XX and then they assign you the designating numbers at SOI.

If you leave for bootcamp as a reservist and your contract says 0311, then you're going to be 0311.
