It was a human traffic jam at Lambert Airport's U.S.O today. The annual exodus of thousands of soldiers and marines on their way home for the holidays.
They came in by the busload early this morning....an invasion of khaki and green. Some 5000 men and women.
"It's going to mean a lot to go home I haven't seen my family in a while15:10 I've been looking forward to this for a long time." PFC Shaun Hudson - U.S. Army
"It's what keeps an old soldier like me energized and motivated to serve everyday, being around these great youngsters." Brig. General Gregg Martin U.S. Army
The U.S.O. showed its appreciation with everything from pictures with Ms. Missouri and the Hooters Girls. To Christmas cards and calling cards to phone home.
