Ive been in DEP for about 4 months now.. Leaving sometime in January...
My question is not concerning Boot Camp... But i have a friend who is on juice and leaving to Basic in a week or two... Hes really worried that there going to test him for steroids... So now hes thinking of not even going now.. Im trying to convince him not to leave the DEP... I wanted to get my information straight before I told him to consider what he was doing... My question to you is he going tested for steroids at bootcamp?

Thank You..

ha ha Your "friend" I would imagine that would be one of those things that would make you pop on a pee test but im not for certain, I would suggest quilting the steroids and tell him to drink like a gallon of water a day, and still go to boot camp.

your name is Liquid Force too... that's kinda funny .

They will pop his arse in the brig. Then he will get a different type of "juice".

Fender104 - Surely you aren't insinuating that drinking a gallon of water a day will get the "juice" out of his system are you?

I would hope he's giving him a suggestion that would cause him to **** his pants at MEPS.

If you think you shouldn't be taking it then you shouldn't be taking it... or he shouldn't be taking it... nor should his fairy grandmother. We don't promise you a rose garden, just lots of rocks to break.

Steroids don't make your dick smaller...

Just makes you need Viagra to have an erection, enlarges your heart and makes your balls shrivel up and go inside you.

Steroids would be great if there were no side effects..

I hope you not looking forward to having kids, or living past 40,Liquid Farce.

Lyle Alzado, one of the fierce Warriors of the dark kick ass Oakland Raiders commenting on steroids:

In 1992, former NFL defensive lineman Lyle Alzado died a very ugly and public death from brain cancer. He blamed the disease on his longtime steroid abuse. Alzado, who played for the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, and L.A. Raiders during his career, was one of the NFL's premiere pass rushers and had embarked on a successful acting career before being diagnosed with the cancer.

Before he passed away, Alzado admitted: "I started taking anabolic steroids in 1969 and never stopped. It was addicting, mentally addicting. Now I'm sick, and I'm scared. Ninety per cent of the athletes I know are on the stuff. We're not born to be 300 lbs or jump 30ft. But all the time I was taking steroids, I knew they were making me play better. I became very violent on the field and off it. I did things only crazy people do. Once a guy sideswiped my car and I beat the hell out of him. Now look at me. My hair's gone, I wobble when I walk and have to hold on to someone for support, and I have trouble remembering things. My last wish? That no one else ever dies this way."

Steroids=Early Death, just ask Lyle Alzado.

Why do you or your "friend" need steroids? You can get the same results without them with a little more hard work and effort. Quit being lazy.

I have friends that use to take roids not good at all

If you or "your friend" are taking roids keep this in mind your going to have withdrawl and stress is a big factor. It lowers the dopamine in your body which causes depression that leads to stress you or "he" are going to stick out like a sore thumb. Boot camp is a giant stress test.

A drug test is not going to be necessary it will be visibile

I don't think it's screened for in the random drug tests that most Marines here are familiar with. If you show up looking like Lou Ferrigno, I'm certain they can arrange for a urinalysis that tests for roids.

I am in no way advocating the use of steroids, but the human body can not, in any way, repair itself fast enough to give the same results that steroids give. It's just not possible.

It sounds cool to say "hard work, no more laziness" but it's absolutely insane to believe the results will be the same.

On the plus side though, the person who did it the hard way--without roids, will still have his testicles when all is said and done.

I went through Boot Camp back in '86. We had this "Cali Surfer Dude" in the plt. He was huge. The Di's suspected him of roid use and questioned him about it. He kept denying it but his actions said differently. They ended up doing another *iss test on him and he obviously didn't spend enough time studying because he failed. He disappeared one day from the chowhall with the SDI and noone ever saw him again. Asked the Senior on Graduation day what ever happened to that guy, he told me he visited the brig long enough for them to escort him to the front gate.

Exactly, not only will they have their testes where they should be, but the muscle they built will not go away and shrink with time

Steroids do not build muscle mass, they build water mass.

You''ll get some muscle under there, of course, but the majority of the size is not going to stick around.

I went to HS with two guys that I know took the roids. Neither one was an athlete in school, just lazy body builders. Today, one is a cop and the other works behind a desk. Both guys have had major back surgeries and neither one has any kids.

The Corps has no need for lug heads who think short-sighted cheating is the right way. Earn your muscle through time and training and it will stick with you like your character.

Steroids do, in fact, build muscle mass. There are a ton of stories out there that simply are not true. In reality, responsible use of steroids isn't nearly as bad as it is made out to be. Abuse will kill you more quickly than just about any other substance you put into your body. The true problems stem from the psychological addiction that comes along with the gains you make when on the juice. When you're into lifting and you see your bench numbers jump faster than they have since you first started lifting something clicks inside your head. You think you'll waste away if you go off the stuff, and then bad things happen.

That said, most common urine tests do not screen for steroids. They are looking for the recreational drugs. When you're someplace that steroid use is more common, they start looking for it. I've known plenty of people on juice that got away with it through many tests. But then they ended up in a really bad spot when someone decided to take a closer look.

In all honesty, your friend shouldn't drop from the DEP, but he should come clean to the recruiter. They can get the waivers in place and give him time to get clean. Then he can ship without anything hanging over his head.

Couldn't disagree with you more about the "responsible" use of steroids, responsible use, we are talking about an illegal drug, it's not a game to play with. Sure, a doctor can prescribe the use of them for repair/recovery, but not to build muscle in a responsible way. It's like telling a heroin addict that it's okay to use as long as they are responsible and don't get hooked? Really, how many guys can do that?

People who say they use them responsibly, to me, are still cheater p u s s i e s.

I also disagree with you when you say that it builds muscle mass. The actual lifting weights behind taking the drugs might, but the drugs do not. Look at any former body builder many years after they are off the juice, where is the muscle mass?

That is why Arnold is a skinny little governator, cause he was on the juice back then. If he built his mass the right way, he'd still have most of it now.

Echo_Four_Bravo

Wookie, look at any lifter years after they quit lifting- they all get smaller. You have to keep lifting and lifting heavy to keep real mass- no matter how you got it. Pointing at someone that juiced to get big and then saying since they aren't big they didn't have muscle mass just doesn't work. You are correct, it is the lifting that actually makes you big, not the drug- but the drug allows you to lift at a volume that you could never reach clean.

As for the responsible statement, I should clarify. If you're using steroids and they are not prescribed by a physician for a legitimate medical condition, you are breaking the law. That in itself is not responsible. However, that isn't what I was talking about. I was just noting that the use of steroids isn't exactly what people think of when they think about juice. If a person were to be taking the medications in a legal way, and took them as directed, many of the problems associated with steroid abuse would not be present.

As for cheating and being a part of the female anatomy, I totally agree. There are very few cases where steroids are necessary. Those that do need them for a medical reason aren't going to be qualified to enlist in the Marine Corps in the first place. There is no reason why any Marine, or wannabe, should even consider the stuff. You can get where you need to be through real work, rest, and proper recovery. The type of muscle mass that you HAVE to use steroids to get would be problematic, not beneficial to a Marine. So, if you use them to get where you need, or want, to be as a Marine, you're simply looking for the easy button.
