Are there any Intelligence specialists willing to teach me how to decrypt?
I would like to at least know the basics before I go to my school. I know this might sound stupid at the least, but I'm willing to try to learn so I can get ahead.

WTF are you talking about and how did you surmise that you'll be decrypting anything? You are not going to be doing anything like that. Just worry about bootcamp. Your instructors will teach you everything you need to know when you get to school.

HAHA this is funny, son first off any thing that has to do with cryptology is TS second no one will even be willing to talk to a poolee about it that doesn't even have his clearance paper work in so that shoots down your idea right there.... also if you think that as a 0231 your gona be doing some secret squreal tipe of things your wrong... cripto is in the 26xx field the 0231's deal with raw data and turn it into useable intel and analyze it to provide our assesment to the commandar, the goal of intel is to.
ruduce the commanders unknown uncertinty
and to protect friendly forces throu counter intelligence,
now do we work with TS material yes
do we have alot of opotunitys yes, but you have to work for them and go to the right units.

The Corps has taught me one of the Worst Answers you can give your Boss is "I don't know." You better have a damn good reason and a plan to correct your lack of knowledge. A good Boss will listen to I Don't Know if you have a plan to get the answers.
This is not just Active Duty Intel, this also happens daily in the 1st Civ Div.

Wow, you're good at typing the definitions right out of your student handbook. I suppose he could contact you if he wanted to know what the chow is like at Dam Neck huh??? Also, since you have yet to handle TS information and have demonstrated your lack of procedures regarding said classified, I would recommend you not post those things on an open internet forum...get my drift???

Classified? Hardly, I could find that and far more sensitive yet still unclassified info via open source. HQ USMC has all sorts of stuff on their web pages. :)

I told you it may sound stupid, my mistake, I do have the humility to admit that I was ignorant in bringing this up. I learned a quick lesson in how to not pay attention to people who say thats what Ill be doing. However, I'm not going to use that as an excuse for my uneducated question. 0231Marine, I do remember asking you if you could fill me in on what Intelligence life is going to be, so if you'd be so kind, I WILL gladly take any advice that you have.
