Marine Corps League Plans Anniversary Gala
The Mineola Detachment No. 1278 Marine Corps League is planning the second annual gala celebration to commemorate the 233rd anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.
This year's event will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight, Nov. 8 at the Live Oak Room of the Mineola Civic Center in Mineola. Dress will be formal/semiformal and will include a traditional ceremony, dining and dancing to live music from the '50s, '60s and '70s. All Marines -- active, reserves and retired, along with their guests -- are invited to participate. However, the deadline for reservations will be Nov. 3. The cost of the event is $45 per person.
Since Nov. 10, 1775, as a matter of tradition, Marines around the world have celebrated the birth of their beloved Corps.
Interested persons should call as soon as possible for information and reservations at 903-569-3919 or 903-882-3643. Leave your name and guest name, mailing address and telephone number; or mail same to Mineola Detachment No. 1278, P.O. Box 564, Mineola, 75773 with check payable to: Det. No. 1278, MCL for the appropriate amount.
