Marines come home
HERALD-LEADER STAFF REPORT
Local Marines from Military Police Company Alpha, Headquarters and Service Battalion, 4th Marine Logistics Group, based in Lexington, returned Sunday from their deployment in Al Anbar, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Families, friends and loved ones gathered at the Kentucky National Guard Armory, 4201 Parkers Mill Road, to welcome the Marines home.
Military Police Company Alpha successfully completed its mission in securing the border entry points from Syria and Jordan into Iraq. Sixty-seven Marines from Military Police Company Alpha were activated on Dec. 3, 2007.
