About 140 Marines headed to Iraq
About 140 Marines assigned to the reserve center at Fort Jackson are headed to Iraq.
The reservists, members of Fox Company, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, will leave Monday for Camp LeJeune, N.C., and, from there, to Anbar Province, Iraq.
Fox Company will join other units in counter-insurgency operations, route security, and mounted and dismounted patrols, the Marine Corps said.
The Marines, whose reserve center is at the McCrady National Guard Training Center on Fort Jackson, will be deployed seven months.
