I'm looking into intel specialist as my MOS and i know there is a background check so i can get top secret clearence. My problem is that my older brother has a pretty bad police record, and i wanted to know if that will disqualify me for top secret clearance.

I really don't think you got anything to worry about.............................unless he was jailed for helping a terrorist out with something.

Keep things in order. First you have to get through Boot Camp. Don't get distracted by any other details. However, once thats done with and you are applying for a TS the most important thing to remember is "DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING OUT". It is far better to provide too much information than to leave something out.

If you leave something out, and the find out about it (and they will) it look like you are trying to hide it. For example, your older brother. He needs to be mentioned some where in your paper work.

if you have been contracted something that requires a TSC you will start the prelim paperwork in boot camp sometime in the 2nd or 3rd phase, that way they will know if they have to drop you from the program or not before you graduate boot camp... don't worry though, the two who did theirs both passed...

everyone's right, they are testing your honesty and yours alone... just don't worry.

there's a mistake... don't wait on him, he's busy... hound him and or goto the office.
