The Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee hosted about 100 local Marines and their family members at Wild Rivers Waterpark Sunday.
The committee is a non-profit organization based in Irvine dedicated to supporting men and women of the 2/11 Battalion of the US Marine Corps.
"This is a lot of fun," said Cpl. Carl Culver, who brought his family to the day-long event from Oceanside. "I didn't even know this waterpark was here. My usual Sunday consists of cleaning the house and going to the grocery store."
