I go to MCRD Parris Island July 28th. Does anyone know what battalion and what comanpy I would be with? I see people on here sometimes know their battalions before they go, but I don't know whre to find that out (tried looking on here and google and MCRD PI's website).
thanks-Thomas

ps- my recruiter is on leave otherwise I'd ask him.

Hey RedSox, I also ship out on the 28th for PI. By the graduation schedule I think we're supposed to be 2nd battalion Fox Co.

If you go to one of the MCRD official webistes, they have the graduation date/ship date/company/battalion sheet (At least MCRD San Diego website has one). I haven't checked the PI one.

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you ship on on July 28th and count 13 weeks from there (including the week of receiving) the Friday of Graduation would be October 24th and the only Recruit Training Battalion graduating on that day is Charlie Co. 1st Battalion.

I think youre right Lagrand, thats what it looked like when i checked last time, but that was a couple months ago...

I find this a bit confusing on the graduation dates. It says Oct. 24th as 1st Bn. but I counted 13 weeks from July 21st and that Friday is the 24th, yet my Bn. is 3rd.

hope you guys are 2nd battalion. 1st makes men, 2nd makes marines. 3rd makes machines. men die, machine break but marines are eternal

lol yeah according to regulations unless you do it with the junior marine its considered hazing. b.s. if you ask me. sometimes making someone push till muscle failure is a better means of correcting them as opposed to giving them a page 11 or njp*shrugs*

Mountain climbers are worse than push ups if you ask me

So, I was looking at the graduation charts for MCRDSD and it says the company I'll be in, which is Echo company, but it doesn't say which battalion. Does MCRDSD only have one battalion?

Quinbo

LOL ... Echo company is in 2nd Bn. Just think of it as every four letters of the alphabet as the companys of that battalion. ABCD = 1st Bn. etc.

To add to that in the fleet. There is generally no Delta, Hotel, or Juliet companys normally. Not sure why.

Cplkjspevak i agree with you bro, on the mountain climbers. Those bends and thrust sucked worse than push ups too.

This is unrelated to the OP's question.

Anyone know anythin about Alpha Company for MCRDSD? Is it hard unit to train in or what?

darkgreen0311

I was in Alpha Co MCRD San Diego all Companies are hard. It doesn't matter what company you go to. Or if you go to P.I or San Diego. Boot camp is boot camp.

the only thing they do different is how the mark ****, and some other minor **** they all follow the same training schedule. I remember i was on an island hopping campaign and we had like 3 recruits from each battalion in the pit. Was interesting. But hey we had a accelerated 92 go to 3rd. (We where first) and they wrote to us saying it was easier. But hey thats probally bs its all hard.
