Thank you Marines.

MCI's are classes from the Marine Corps Institute. When you get them they come with a book (They don't come with tests anymore_ you read the book then you take a test on it. thats about it

You can order them from a website.

you order them from a website, they come in the mail. Then you request one if you don't have access to ROLE if you do you take the test on that. Don't bother asking for the site because until you earn that EGA you are not a Marine thus cannot obtain them.

Whats ROLE? and where do you take the test? Since you said they dont come with them anymore.
And what are they about?
Like Marine Corps History and stuff?

There is Leadership Fundamentals, Math for Marines, Counter-terrorism, personal Finance......I seem to remember you get like 20 points per MCI on your personal composite score toward Cpl. But I think you can max out at five MCI's for a total of 100 points. Some MOS's have higher cutting scores for promotion, I would not have made NCO, had I not maxed out on MCI's. If I'm wrong about any of this would some of you younger Devil Dogs correct me, I've been out over ten years.

Don't worry about it but to answer your question you eather take it through ROLE which is an online test that the training NCO can log you in or, you can request them if you have a legit reason for not bieng able to take them through ROLE. Since i am reserve i can't drive 2 hours and take a day off for work to take a test and drill weekends are two busy.
