Another question.

As it stands, I'm both way too overweight, and way too under minimum IST req's to be a Marine. The simple solution is to get there. Having said that, would it be a good idea to meet with a recruiter anyway, or would it waste his time? I definitely don't want to do that.

Don't even waste his/her time unless you just want to PT with them

You might want to ask your recruiter if you may participate in their DEP PT program. You would be motivated by the recruiters and other poolees in the program.
