Marines;

sorry to ask another eye sight question, and I did do a search but I was curious, I am a enlisted poolee with a 0331 contract, my vision is correctable to 20/30 (I guess that sounds weird but I am fairly sure is what it is). Am I still going to be able to do my job, like my recruiter said I would, or did he kind of give me the run around, and I am going to end up in something I dont want to be in?

Thanks a lot,

You could still cook.

How are you with scrambled eggs? My personal favorite.

A little more serious....... You're asking us if your recruter is giving you the run around? With a question like that, this is what you can expect from us.

Sir,

I am sorry if I asked a question like that, I am assuming your saying he is not giving me the run around. I am just worried that I won't be able to do what I contracted for, which is something does happen in the Marine Corps. Can I cook? Yeah, I have been a grill cook for years, but with all due respect to support and other positions, that isnt how I wish to serve my country.

So, thanks for answering my question.

You might not have a choice on how to serve this great country of ours.

I understand that, but If I am contracted (Reserve) what would happen to me? My vision is not that poor, I can see and read without my glasses on, I just see a bit better (obviously).

There are many Marines with eyesight worse than that as long as it is ok corrected the Corps will issue a nice set of BC's ugly black framed glasses that will scare the girls away thus the name birth control's.As long as you shoot and cook you will do fine in the Corps. Good Luck

Thank you Marine, I suppose I am doing the poolee thing and worrying about unessecary things, but It still feels better to know.
