Hey Marines, so im shipping in 3 days can't wait! just have a couple of questions before i go, Thanks alot for the help.

I pass out when i give blood,:scared: not even because they took blood, but when i see my own blood. I cant do anything about it either, ussually when i would have blood taken from me at my doctors i would lay down and be fine, it's only when i'm sitting down, what can i do?

My contract is BA which include aviation logistics electronics matienence and AVIONICS. I want to work in the airwings with all the jets planes and choppers, does electronics matienence include everything? even jobs that have nothing to do with aviation?

Do i salt my food whenever i eat so i can better retain my water?

Thanks guys.

You can take off your dress, missy, and cowboy up.

Do i salt my food whenever i eat so i can better retain my water? I thought only women retain water. You already live in San Diego and are acclimated. You don't have to do anything different unless the Corpsman suggests it.

Thanks guys.
Address us as Marine or by rank, maggot.

A little butter and salt on corn on the cobb makes it more tasty. Large amounts of salt in your diet has been proven to increase your blood pressure. Keep your internal canteen full by drinking water... not gatorade or red bull or any other. Water! You need to read the thread about recruits donating blood. Step right up.

I pass out when i give blood,:scared: not even because they took blood, but when i see my own bloodI've donated some 18 pints of blood but i don't do it anymore because i would weaken for a day or two and in my occupation thats asking to get injured, dehydrated or sick from the heat or whatever. I like the crimson hue but if nobody is forcing you to look at it then don't!

Do i salt my food whenever i eat so i can better retain my waterWhile the 'Corps of Discovery' was holed up for the winter trying to stay out of the rain near Astoria, Oregon. Captain Lewis dispatched a crew of men to build a cairn for the purpose of extracting sea salt used to enhance and season their bland diet of fish and poor elk. They long ran dry of coffee and grog and drank water, period. Many of the men had a liking for salt while a few including Captain Clark said they could take it or leave it, Sacajawea probably never used salt until she met up with that outfit. During those years of 'discovery' they all worked harder than you or aye or any pro-athlete ever will and pulled through by drinking water, they got sick mostly on the Missouri where the water is scummy.

Sports drinks are a scam, better than soda but not as good as water.

You seem a bit confused, as retaining water is not desirable especially for an active individual. If you drink water from the ocean or the sweat off your girlfriends body eventually you will dehydrate and get sick. If you are hot and thirsty the last thing you want is a salty chunk of C-Rat or MRE pork or a lick from a cows mineral block, right? So why would you want to load up on excessive amounts of salt before physical exertion? Water should evaporate saline or not. Like Bulkyker said: Keep your innard canteen full and i may add that "staying hydrated" means just that. Don't wait until your thirsty if the choice is yours. Good Luck.

Rvillac2. maggot? Iwould appricieate it if you would not reply to this anymore as you are of no help to me.

I know i sound like a little girl with the blood thing but there is nothing i can do about it it's psychological... so please dont make fun i just wanted to know if i can do anything, will they let me lay down and take it?

sure the weather is the same but what does that have to do with retaining my water, im pretty sure i will be a bit more physically active in bootcamp, and will need to drink more water than i normally do

If you do not have enough salt in your diet you can not RETAIN water...

sports drinks are not a scam they have plenty of electrolytes, it is important to restore your bodys electrolyte level after dehydration caused by exercise.

Sgt, this young turd is taking this to the very end isn't he? I wonder if he thinks his time with us ends here and now? after all we can find him in boot camp;

Recruiter's name and rank?:
sargent caribiener
Recruiters phone number?:
1-858-663-5668

As he ships tomorrow, I think some of us Marines need to get his contact information and send him a, shall we say, care package to boot camp! That will show him how much we stand behind him, LOL! :devious:

Now if I was this poolee, I think I would tray to make mends with the good Sgt before I left, wouldn't you guys? LMAO. :marine:

Oh Lord where do we get these a$$holes?

Listen up punk. You are talking to NCO's of Marines in a disrespectful tone. I'll tell you now, that **** doesn't fly here, or in the Fleet. SlingerDun, answered your dumbass questions and then you have the nerve to refute him. He's been there and done it. The food is designed specifically to meeting recruits nutrient needs. A little sprinkle of salt on food wouldn't hurt. It seems a little common sense to me. Again, SlingerDun told you sports drinks are a scam. For one, Marines aren't wrong here, don't refute them. People survived for millions of years without it and you don't neee it......*****.

I hope your DI's kick you in the mouth you little smart azz punk. Who do you think you are? WHO? You have a lot of learning to do. And you better toughen up that soft little skin by morning, they don't have no frickin tissue at boot camp.

Amazing.

Do I salt my food? I didn't see a salt or pepper shaker when I was there. What a clown.

LOL...always proud of my fellow Marines.

Kid, your quote here sums up so many kids in your generation. You don't understand respect for elders, seniors, and betters. You've been brought up to think that equality is everywhere and you've earned as much respect as everyone you've ever met. You're gonna find out real quick that it's a load of crap.

You'll respect your seniors or you'll quickly find a very hard life in the Corps. "We're here to protect democracy, not practice it." There will be Marines that will only be a few months older than you or may even be younger than you that will outrank, outperform, and outtalent your a$$. With the attitude you've displayed, you're gonna have a problem with them sending you out to clean the head or police call the parking lot.

Don't worry, our young Corporals have ways of dealing with that. As you can see, when you disrespect rank, all other NCOs will jump all over your sh_t.

You are exactly right, your problem with seeing your own blood is psychological. It's pansy a$$. Get over it, or choose a softer lifestyle. And like I said in the RULES, if you're feelings are going to get hurt over something said on the internet, choose a different career.

Lastly, this is my house, kid. I'll post whenever and wherever I want.

Semper Fi, Marines.

By the way, maybe we can drum up some midget rodeo cowboy porn to send as a present to this young stud.

In my time here I have seen many Poolee's leave for MCRD, most met the challenge and earned the title. I have also seen a number wash out for whatever reason. A have also seen some real knuckleheads with a total lack of respect for us, come back as a Marine with a totally different bearing and respect. We will have to wait and see with this one lol.

Just in case you catch this before you leave. You'd better get used to being called "Maggot" and worse. In Boot they don't care if it bothers you or not and you can't ask them to stop. Well actually, you can, go ahead, talk to your DI and let him know how you feel.

Good Luck, hehehe!
