Our son leaves from Camp Lejeune next Monday for Mojave Viper training out of 29 Palms. Does anyone know if they fly into the base or a commercial airport?

Your son will leave from cherry point and fly into a reserve AFB in Cali. He'll ride a bus for about 2 and a 1/2 hours and then hate the next 30 days of his life :bunny: . Just joking around about the hating part, but it wasn't the most fun i've ever had in my life. He'll be on a commercial aircraft that's contracted through the military. Tell him to enjoy the in flight movie :marine: .
I wanted to answer this, but the last time I went out there, we landed in the old Norton AFB in San Bernadino. I heard it closed, and wasn't sure if it became an air reserve base or not. I remember the bus ride through "windmill valley".
