I'm going to MEPS on Monday/Tuesday and I'm going for a 20080616 shipdate so I can ship with my friend. If I can, I'll ship earlier.

My shipdate is 20080616 as well. I got that back in August though so more then likely you'll be going on a later date.

My friend went in December and got that shipdate. Maybe my recruiter can pull some strings or find and open slot. Maybe he can throw me in with that Buddy Program. The earlier I go after I finish High School (June 6th) the better for me. If I do go the 16th, I'll keep a look out for you, lol.

By the way it sounds, it may just be regional. I know that since my friend DEPed in, only one other poolee did so as well in my area.

I don't mean to disrespect you, but there ARE exceptions, if I am correct. Such as a Marine family lineage. But then again, I may be wrong. I'll research it a bit.

Of course there are exceptions to any rule! I am from Tennessee and I went to San Diego in 1969, because I had a brother in the Corps at that time! You won't be able to prove me wrong on that topic my friend! Trust me, if you use the usual rule then the ones west of the Mississippi goes to SD the ones east of the Mississippi goes to Parris Island!

So you are right, but you are wrong to post against a Marine on this matter, it should have been handled by PM! Poolees are to never argue with Marines, or show the least bit of disrespect to Marines! Remember that in the future, POOLEE!

Yes I was there. I was the guy in the orange shirt who raised his hand when GySgt Brown asked if anyone had a base sticker on their trucks.... That simulator was pretty fun.

"Cocked locked and ready to rock" if you remember that from the simulator. I was in truck 3 we were the ones that in the second to last run threw stomped on the gas at about 50 and left everyone in the dust. SSgt Kirk is trying to get the Juneau Poolees four in all up there for a function but no luck from Portland with the money.

There is a female from my RSS leaving that date, shes moto so that's good to go. I am HOPEFULLY leaving that date, my friend just changed his to May from then for the 92 day program, so I am hoping to pick it up (3rd Bat).

I will take a shot at this, but I defer to anyone with better intel.

The line has always traditionally been the Mississippi river. Being right on the line makes more possibilities of what works best for training schedules and cycles.

With an attempt underway to grow the size of the Corps, it probably contributes to the flexibility of those riding the watery line. Except for females who go to Parris Island.
