Hey, I'm having trouble with crunches and I'm wondering whether this is normal. I can currently do 11 chin-ups (I started at 3) and can run 3 miles in 21 minutes, however, crunches are really giving me a hard time... you'd expect any normal person to easily do over 30 crunches, however, I do 28 and a really sharp pain begins; not the kind of pain I get after chin-ups, in which I simply get exhausted, I stop, and the pain is immediately relieved. With crunches however, once I stop, the sharp pain remains there for like 30 seconds.

I've been doing about 1000 crunches per week (3 days a week), and while I can feel the pain in my abs, I can't notice the progress I did with chin-ups/push-ups :\

If you're wondering why I'm not in the pool hall, it's because I do not have a green card yet, but it's my dream to become a U.S. Marine. I should be getting a green card in less than 2 years =)

Depends where the pain is, but you might wanna see the Doc and make sure you don't have a small Hernia.
