Marines' net film is pain in the rear
By Jan Disley 27/11/2007
Army chiefs are probing how film of a Marine being shot in the backside in Afghanistan appeared on YouTube.
Jonny Hart, 23, is seen declaring "I've been shot in the a**e!" during a firefight with the Taliban south of wartorn Helmand.
The film was taken by a camera attached to a helmet.
Such footage is only meant for use by officers to see if correct practice was followed.
Now it has been viewed by 44,000 people.
Jonny, of Wigan, Lancs - who won a gallantry award earlier this year - said: "Watching the video, I can laugh at what happened.
"But I'm annoyed at it being made public. I've no idea how it happened."
The six-minute film, titled Royal Marines Commando Helmet Camera Fighting Footage, was added to YouTube in May.
The MoD said: "We're concerned that this material has reached the public domain in this manner."
