Maybe this has been asked, maybe not, I have searched high and low for the answer on google and this site also, but I can't seem to find the answer. Contacting my recruiter is a bit difficult right now with my car being broken, and phone lost somewhere, and variety of other reasons, but question is simple.

I DEP'ed in 20071010 I leave for bootcamp 20070804, I signed up for HOPEFULLY Security Forces, (I know it's not guaranteed) but after some research and other stuff, I realized I think I might like Fire Artillery Support Man (I believe it is called) better, and would possibly like to change my MOS. I think I remember my recruiter telling me something about this if I wanted to change but I can't quite recall at this moment. Thank you for your time in answering this question.

What is your question? If you are asking if you can change- the answer is yes.

Yeah that was my question, to see if I can even though I DEP'ed in and signed for Security Forces if I can change to the Artillery one. I just didn't want to be one of those guys who don't search forums or internet first and just ask the same question 100 others have asked. However thank you for your response...

I changed twice while in DEP. It's possible, just let your recruiter know.

Also, unless you're going Reserve, you won't be gauranteed 0861, only 08XX.
From 08XX, you can get
0811 CannonCocker
0842 Radar Operator
0844 Fire Controller
0847 Met man (weatherman)
or 0861 Forward Observer.

Yeah, I read that 0861 is a tough field to get into... It just seems so interesting...
