I contacted my recruiter ( SSgt Young ) recently and asked him what Batt. I was assigned to. He told me I'd be in 3rd Batt, Mike Company. I don't know if its possible to determine platoon this early, is it?

My shipdate is 20071014. Any other poolies here have the same Company/Battalion and shipdate?

You won't know platoon number until you're in recieving at bootcamp. No if's and buts ors or nors about it.

Haffner is right, when we got off the bus, they just started filling in the earlier platoon (2073) until it was full and then started 2074 with the recruit after the last of 2073. No way you can guessor anything.

Thank you for the info LCpl.

I don't really care where I end up really, as long as I become a Marine in the end.

You know, I have to be honest, I'm only elevating it at night, but being in a civilian environment it really shows how much you are on your feet at boot, its really starting to heal up with as little walking as those disgusting things do, and all I'm doing is walking around normally as a civilian. I still need to take it easier than I am though.

Thanks for the link drifter! I'm finally a Marine on leatherneck! Today at church a man came up to me (I was with 2 of my buddies) we were in alphas, and he shook my hand and said "Welcome home Marine". Its just incredible to think I did it. I'm so used to thinking I'm beneath you all because I'm just a recruit trying to earn the title...but I have. I did it. I'm a United States Marine, and now I've got the avatar to prove it! Haha
