Hello all, I just wanted to give a brief introduction to myself as I am new to this site. I hope I am doing so correctly, if not, by all means chew me out! Similarly, I believe my profile is set up correctly, but correct me if I am wrong.

-I am 17 and going in to my senior year of high school
-I expect to be DEPping in within the next couple weeks as my mother has finally agreed to sign
-I have been PTing at the local RSS, RSS Waltham, in Waltham MA, out of RS Portsmouth in Portsmouth NH for the past 6 months
-I am from Newton, MA, and am one of a very small number of kids from my town who wants to enter the military
-I am going in as an 0311 in the SMCR, and plan to attend college in 2009

I would like to thank all the Marines on this site who take them time to help us wannabees and poolees out.

My father grew up in Brockton so occasionally I'm out there to see my grandparents. If they have that mini-boot event for RS. Portsmouth this year I'll keep an eye out.

Maybe he's practicing for boot camp, where everyone is sir.

And Officers work for a living too, I don't care what any enlisted says.

Am I going to have to try to figure this one out for myself? When formally addressing our recruiters and other Marines we always use sir (shrugs).

most Marines if not an Officer dont like being called Sir...... but its appropriate seeing as you are no Marine yet. so its really not a big deal and you can get away using the term but you can be a little more relaxed here and use the proper title (aka Rank)
