Troops overseas to get more free phone cards

Another 10,000 free prepaid phone cards, donated by AT&T, are being distributed to troops in the coming weeks to celebrate Independence Day.
The prepaid phone cards, each providing 20 free minutes of talk time in calls back to the U.S., are being distributed through USO entertainment tours slated for the next few weeks. The USO will help AT&T distribute the phone cards to troops serving throughout Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, South Korea, Japan and Europe.
It marks the third installment toward more than 50,000 prepaid cards that AT&T will give away in 2007. The 50,000 prepaid phone cards are valued at more than $450,000.
Since January 2006, AT&T has donated nearly 200,000 prepaid phone cards, valued at nearly $1.8 million, to military members and their families.
