Getting in to the Marines

Hi I am new to all of this and am just looking for some information my boyfriend is talking about going in to the Marines ( actually he has talked to a recruter and is pretty set on it) and I guess I am wanting to what is required to get in like the physical and what not also after he goes in and does all the prelemanary stuff then how long does it usually take to get shipped to bootcamp and then what? I just would really like to know what to expect I guess and any information anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
