Sorry to be blowing up the poolee hall with threads, I just wanted to show you guys something.
I've been in the DEP since 20060713, I weighed 147 lbs and was 6'3". I was a STICK. I didn't even realize it. Holy crap. My first IST I did
7 pullups
35 crunches
15:40 1.5 mile
This was me probably 20061025, 3 months after depping in. (Don't...ask....)

I still had absolutely no muscle definition. I had gotten a little better athletically, maybe dropped a few minutes off my run time, but thats about it.
Here I was a few weeks ago

There's always talk of super-moto people losing alot of weight to join, but there ARE people at the opposite end of the spectrum. And I'm definitely not trying to say I've worked my ass off even remotely close to as hard as Accord has...because...well...I don't think there are many people in this world who have, but it just goes to show you what a year in DEP, and getting off your lazy, skinny civilian ass will do for you.
I just wanted to show my progress...

I know you said don't ask about the first pic.. but dude.. wtf? Hahaha. I think someone had a little to much to drink.

You're doing a great job. It is hard for some to believe, but for "hard gainers' it is as difficult, if not more so, to gain weight as it is for over weight people to lose weight.

Wish I was looking that great. I look like a sack of crap at 165 lbs. Actually, I'm not fat but I virtually have no real muscle, just flabby and loose skin.

Also, I got a chance to see to the commanding officer for recruting in GA.
Awesome guy, went enlisted and commisioned later.
The Major is a cool guy.

Looks like your recruiters invest in you. All I got was a lousy T-shirt and if I was lucky enough, I would have gotten a water bottle.
Oh, lol, I got 2 Poolee shirts, a grey Marines shirt, a water bottle, countless free dinners at Hooters, tags, and a free trip to an NFL game...and none of this was done trying to sell me the USMC either!

Why all the high and tights on the poolees?
We did it before we went to have matching haircuts. We're trying to convince the guy on the bottom left to get a freshly shaven high and tight before he ships and wear his poolee shirt with cammies and boots :) hahaha

Achped, did you drink protein shakes? What types of food did you eat? :beer:
No protein shakes, no "Set" lifting program, I just GOT OFF MY ASS. That's all it takes. Really, just...DO something.
I PT with my recruiters every tues and thurs. We usually run about 3 miles, do a daily 16, and a gazillion pullups and situps. But nothing crazy.
I seriously just...did something. That's all it took.
Oh, and I added about 1500 calories more to my daily diet. :)

I deffenately no balls you to do that. Not joking. Do it, it will be funny as hell and the Drill Instructors will get so mad and probably just take him to the quarter deck right then.

You won't see the DI's in an official way. But, if I were a DI I'd be around to see my herd in forming. Don't think you can get away with anything, because even if they don't see you, what you do will be passed along.
