Almost 1,100 Marines were selected to pin on captain’s bars by the fiscal 2008 selection board, manpower officials announced Tuesday.
The list includes 1,098 first lieutenants selected for promotion, up from the 991 leathernecks selected by last year’s board.
The board convened in February at Quantico, Va.
