Marines Come Home

Submitted by Abena Williams on April 21, 2007 - 6:28pm.

Cheers and hugs greeted 29 Marines who spent seven months serving in Iraq.

Linda Paul's son is one of them, "I teach high school and they've all been excited waiting for Michael to come home it's hard to concentrate we can't think of anything else just waiting for those boys to roll in."

Excited family members spent the afternoon waiting at the Marine Reserve Center for their loved ones to return.

Regina Isom's daughter Sgt. Ginger Isom is the units only female.

Regina Isom, "She wanted to go and serve her country. I think you kind of hold back and then when you know they're really here you can let some emotion out or whatever. It was a long seven months."

Several members of the unit were split up in Iraq to perform different jobs.

Marine Cody Michelena, "We were best of friends before we left then we went to two different places in Iraq, we got to see each other a few times and so it's great to be back together, just enjoying the times taking it as it comes."

Now they say they're just looking forward to getting reacquainted with their loved ones.

Brandon Morgan, "Spending quality time with my wife Tiffany Morgan and my family."

One member of Mike Battery, Cody Warren, was killed while serving in Iraq.
