New assignments for four sergeants major

Four high-level commands are set to receive new senior enlisted leaders, according to a Feb. 16 Corps-wide message.
All four are serving under colonels and were selected by a board of the Corps’ nine top sergeants major to take on higher-level assignments, working for two-star generals.
Sgt. Maj. Michael Rew, with manpower’s enlisted assignments section, moves up to become manpower’s senior enlisted Marine, according to the message.
The base sergeant major at Quantico, Va., Sgt. Maj. Raynard Watkins, was chosen to become the senior enlisted man for 4th Marine Division in New Orleans.
Sgt. Maj. Danny Smith, with Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C.-based Marine Aircraft Group 29, moves to MCAS Cherry Point, N.C., as the enlisted leader of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
Sgt. Maj. Randall Carter, assigned to the training regiment at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, is a short drive away from his new assignment at Camp Pendleton, Calif., as the 1st Marine Division’s sergeant major.
The message did not specify when the sergeants major would begin their new jobs.
