I am planning on contacting a recruiter within the next few days to see about enlisting in the USMC. What is the proper way to address a recruiter? Should he be addressed as "Sir" or by his rank (such as "Sergeant Smith") or both? Thank you for your help.

By his rank and last name. Like Sergeant Cruz or Staff Sergeant Kinsey.

Thanks! Is this the case even when he asks you a yes/no question for example, would you reply with "Yes, Sgt. Smith" instead of "Yes, sir"?

If you call a recruiter out of the blue and tell him you want to enlist, I doubt they'll care what you call them until you're signing the paperwork.
