Just a quick question. After you go to your MOS school, do you have to be that MOS for the rest of your career in the Marines or do you have the option of changing it after a few years? No particular reason I'm asking this, just curious I guess. Thanks.

It depends on what MOS you have, how long you'll have to stay in that MOS. Usually, you'll have to spend a minimum of 2 years. Many MOS's are also 'short', and reenlistments are encouraged into them.

It's called a "lateral move".

Depends on the needs of the Corps at any given time. If you have been trained in an MOS that is deemed "critical" it is unlikely they will let you change. However, if there are more people with your MOS wanting to reenlist that they have "boat spaces" for, then it probably wouldn't be difficult. But, if you're thinking about infantry, remember you can't lat move into the infantry on active duty. If you want to be an 03 you have to start as as 03.
