Combat Journalism

Sorry to post twice so close together but I just now had the idea of combat journalism and the more I think about it the more it appeals to me. I was wondering if anyone out there has any info on that field or better yet, experience. I thought it would be a good way to be in the action but also have an applicable skill when I returned to the civilian world (if I return). Once again, any on info is appreciated.

All I found is a bunch of text book definitions, nothing that was first-hand. I have a general idea of what they do, I just want to know if it's more field work or office work because I want to be the field with the action.
