I know I have been asking a lot of questions about a few different MOS's (primary goal is to just get into the USMC first and foremost). I just seem to get intrigued over new things and I like to keeps my options open. Plus its just fun to see what all is out there. If anyone could tell me a little more about USMC Counter Intelligence and even HUMINT Exploration Teams. I found out the basics about it on the about.com military section but maybe someone knows a little more first hand knowledge.

Thanks again
Kyle

I don't know, but I would assume that the basics of the MOS is about all that isn't classified.

you can't directly enlist into counter-intel. You have to be a first term Cpl or Sgt with a GT score of 110+, no NJPs, and pass a screening.

What is a NJP?

Nonjudicial Punishment. That is what can happen when you violate the UCMJ in some form, but the command decides not to court martial you. It will be entered into your records, you can lose pay, be restricted to duty areas, lose rank, etc. But, you avoid the stigma of a court martial.

A HET is not an MOS. It isn't even a billet. I'll get to that later though.

First comes first. Your best bet at getting into Counterintelligence (CI) is to go in as an 0231 (Intelligence Specialist). Once you pick up Corporal, then you can request to go to the CI course and lat move over.

HET is just a smaller team inside of a unit or command. Kind of like a CLIC (Company Level Intelligence Cell). Most of the time you are chosen for a HET because you're good in your field.

I saw that, but nobody had properly responded to the inquiry, which means anybody searching and finding this post (like myself), would be finding inadequate and insufficient information.

I fixed that.
