Two New York Marines have been killed in Iraq, military officials said Friday.

Capt. John J. McKenna IV, 30, of Brooklyn, and Lance Corporal Michael D. Glover, 28, of Garden City, were killed Wednesday during combat operations in Fallujah, according to military officials. Both men were reservists who served in the 1st Battalion, 25th Marines.

McKenna, who served on active duty in Afghanistan, worked as a New York State Trooper until he was mobilized and deployed to Iraq. Glover, who was born in Queens, was studying law at Pace University when he was activated for Iraq duty. He was the nephew of former FDNY chief Peter Hayden, who said Glover joined the Marines after 9/11.

The Marine unit in which both men served arrived in Fallujah in March, and was scheduled to return in October.

McKenna is survived by his parents, John McKenna III and Karen McKenna, of Brooklyn. Glover is survived by his parents, Dennis Glover and Margaret Glover, of Garden City.
