We Finally Name Our Enemy!
By Dave Gibson (08/11/2006)

In a presidential news conference held shortly after news of the foiled plot to incinerate passenger airliners was released, President Bush finally named the enemy hell-bent on our destruction. Bush said: "This nation is at war with Islamic fascists." While he merely stated the obvious, his words represent the first time our commander in chief has actually called the enemy by name. This is not a "Global War on Terror" nor is it a struggle with the "Religion of Peace." It is in fact World War III and the enemy is Islamic fascism!

Of course, Muslim groups have already begun to condemn Bush's common sense remarks. Executive Director of the Council on Islamic-American Relations Nihad Awad told reporters: "We believe that this is an ill-advised term and we believe that it is counterproductive to associate Islamic Muslims with fascism."

While Mr. Awad was very quick to condemn President Bush for his words--the Muslim leader offered no condemnation for the terrorists who attempted to destroy ten jumbo airliners over the Atlantic Ocean. Mr. Awad as well as all Muslims currently living within the United States had better decide which side of this war they support, before they find themselves living in concentration camps until the end of the war. The silence which has been coming from the so-called 'peaceful Muslim community' is deafening!

Most of us have known since September 11, 2001 that our enemy was Islamic fascism and our savage opponents view this fight as a holy war or a clash of civilizations. The devastating attacks on that infamous day left more than 3,000 innocent civilians dead, shut down the New York Stock Exchange for a week, halted civilian air traffic for the first time in U.S. history, and struck fear into the hearts of millions Americans. The common thread amongst the hijackers?...Of course, they were all Muslims.

While Muslim terrorism was nothing new to the world or even to the United States, the dramatic attacks of 9/11 began a new and very dangerous chapter for this nation. Not only would Americans be targeted for murder, but the disruption of our economy was now a goal of our Islamic enemy. War was truly declared on the United States.

Let us take a brief look at the long history of Muslim terrorism:

In 1972, Palestinian terrorists kidnapped and murdered the entire Israeli Olympic team at the Munich games. That cowardly act was unfortunately a sign of things to come.

In 1979, Islamic fundamentalists under the direction of the Ayatollah Khomeni invaded and captured the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran. American Marines and diplomats were held for 444 days. The American captives were subjected to numerous beatings and mock executions at the hands of their Iranian guards.

In 1983, the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon was attacked one early Sunday morning. The Muslim terrorists known as Hezbollah crashed a bomb-laden truck through the compound gates and killed 241 Marines and sailors in their sleep.

In 1985, the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro was hijacked by Palestinian terrorists. During the ordeal, wheelchair-bound Leon Klinghoffer was shot and dumped overboard by his Muslim attackers. He was killed because he was an American and a Jew. His wife Marilyn witnessed the savage act--she died four months later.

In 1986, Libyan and Palestinian terrorists joined forces to bomb a Berlin disco frequented by American servicemen. Two U.S. Army sergeants were killed in the attack.

1993 saw the first attack by Muslim terrorists on the World Trade Center. Six people died and more than 1,000 were injured in the bombing.

In 1998, the U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by the Islamic Army for the Liberation of the Holy Places. The Muslim group was another front for Osama bin Laden. The attacks left 244 people dead and more than 5,000 injured.

In 2000, al Queda terrorists attacked the USS Cole as it sat harbored off the coast of Yemen. Two Muslim men brought their bomb-filled boat alongside the guided-missile destroyer and blew a 40ft x 40ft hole in the ship's hull. The attack left 17 sailors dead and 39 more seriously injured.

Undoubtedly, the events of September 11, 2001 was the darkest day in this nation's history. That day however, was merely the most glaring example of Muslim terrorism. There has obviously been a history of atrocities carried-out against the America and her allies in the name of Allah.

The attacks of 9/11 and the foiled plot to drop as many as ten airliners out of the sky while headed for the United States, are simply two more battles in the war against Islamic fascism.

It is time to use common sense tactics in this war. We must end the foolish practice of random checks at airports and train stations and adopt sensible ethnic profiling. Not one hijacker has been a wheelchair-bound Jewish grandmother nor a white middle-aged businessman.

Now that our leader has shown the courage to name our enemy--we must stop them and kill them at every turn!
