I served 8 years in the Corp. 4 active and 4 inactive. Do I rate 1 or two hash marks since the last 4 were inactive? It's been almost ten years ago and I'm just know going through my stuff.

if the old brain is working you get 1 hash mark for ever four years active or active reservie.
So i think you would just rate one. I hope you find someone that is a little more sure.

I think a "hash mark" is just awarded for active service.
Below is a bit more information...

I hope this might be of some help...

Thanks for the web site, But it's not to specific in regards to the inactive part. I'm still not sure if the inactive / Individual Ready Reserve counts.

hash marks or service stripes are only for active duty time.
