Bikers pay tribute to Twentynine Palms Marines killed in Iraq

A Fallen Troops Run paid tribute to the group of Twentynine Palms Marines who died in Iraq December 1st.

35 motorcyclists started in north Palm Springs and wound their way up to a park near the Twentynine Palms Marine Base where they held a memorial for the ten Marines.

They say this seemed appropriate, especially during the holidays, to let the Marines’ families know they care

They died in a bomb blast in Fallujah. They were all members of the 2nd Battalion, 7th Regiment, 1st Marine Division based out of Twentynine Palms.

The bikers also made donations to the families of the fallen Marines.

I didn't make out to Palm springs for the ride. But, I've been told that it was a very nice ride. Which, also became a sombering experience for some. Because, as all Marines find at some point and time. It can be difficult to mourn the loss of fellow MARINES. We may not be related by blood. But, we are family none the less.
