Good luck guys (gals?)... stay motivated, work hard, do as your instructed and do not, I repeat... DO NOT.... be your platoons "house mouse". Hold your own, accept responsibilities for what you do. LISTEN to the instruction being given to you, never ever quit and always remember... not everyone has what it takes to cross that parade deck on graduation day. Do it and you have something that will live in your heart forever.... Pride, countless thousands of Marine brothers and sisters and most importantly... the title of US Marine!

If you are a recruit and you make your rack...if its jacked up you will be punished - badly. If you are the house mouse and you make the DIs rack...and its jacked up - stand the F*** by. You will most likely get more contact with the DIs if you are a house mouse. I dont know about you, but when I was at boot I liked to stay under the radar as much as possible.

I leave April 4. Cant wait to go and take guide or squad leader. I want that promotion. Got cheated out of it. I had enough college credits for promotion to Private first class but my GPA was too low. Guess I gotta do it the hard way.

I ship 8 days after I graduate. I will graduate boot Sept. 2 and be back here Sept. 4th
Poolee Welbaum I did the same thing. Not only did I miss all the partying, but I missed my class trip. But as I was going through processing on P.I. I realized the reason why I was joining the Corps and it all made perfect sense. I never regretted going right after graduation, but there were some that did. Good luck and stay motivated.

Good Luck to everyone shiping out here soon. I know you all will do well in Boot. Stay motivated, know your General Orders, and as much info about the Corps you can find. I have been told that the more you know now the easier it will be in boot and you can recieve Promotions through your knowlege. Get some workouts in too.

well I'm not much of a party type guy, and well the senior trip is always kingsIsland, so I'm not missing anything really lol.
I'll graduate from The University of Parris Island on my Mother's Birthday.
What a gift, her first child turned into a Marine:D

Heck Yeah. We did. It was camp Don D Harington. I guess you know where that is. It was kinda kool. We ate MRE's for lunch, my favoret, it was really kool. RSS Amarillo does some pretty kool Pool Functions. Our Family night is April 12th at 6:00pm, but we have to be there at 5:30pm. Oh well. I ship June 6th so I wont get to see you at the campout. Oh yeah the camp out will not be in Lubbock, it will be at Camp Don D Harington. I liked the Lubbock camp out better.

you say mre's are your favorite now just wait till after your first 50 you will smell them and feel sick. I can smell an MRE from a mile away. Oh and you can forget about the heaters they give you in them out in the field you don't use them.

Hahaha... yeah... MRE heaters are good for a lot of things though. Get a couple of those along with a gatorade bottle and about 15 of the little bottles of tabasco sauce from the accessory packets, add water, and watch the fun begin :-D. Agreed though, those things... they're better than nothing, but I'm more likely to ratf*ck them and throw the main meals in a bag or something until later... what a mess they are to make.

I leave on Monday for MCRD San Diego. I will be considered a grandpa in the platoon due to my age. I love a challenge I should have fun. The yelling, the insults, the constant changing of commands isn't a big deal to me. It will just make me more motivated to get my **** done quicker. Charlie company here I come.

One of my friends from the RSS is shipping Monday... Lost my work out buddy! (So now I gotta find someone else that is a good workout buddy that is about same stregnth or determined and has the initiative to work out almost every day.) Now I gotta drag another one of the lazy a$$es out of the RSS that I can work out with on a regular basis. Gahh.... T.T
