Does anyone know what the PT is like at School of Infantry?

Thanks, Dan

It's like just like PT any where else.

I just got out of SOI. As a weapons bubba (0331), we did more PT than the 0311's. Its mostly runs and we only did about 4 3-6 mile runs the whole time we were in. I'm not sure about MCT though. I'm sure they find time to lift those quarter pounders at McDonalds :)

Seriously though, if you plan on being in any sort of good physical condition, don't rely on the PT that they give you. You need to take advantage of the gym that they have there for you during the weekends.

The gym? What should you do at the gym? Work on your back? Your neck? What?

I always went for a run on the tredmil and lifted weights in my free time. Nothing else to do in 52 Area Camp Pendleton anyhow.

I loved PTing in Boots and Utes, because then when it came time for a PFT it felt like I was running on air.

MCT only PTs about once or twice. Its hard to find time to PT because they have to teach us a concentrated version of the 0311's course in 3 weeks, which is a lot of absorb.

ITB PT is pretty rough, if they let u, carry a camelback. Bootcamp pt is nothing compared to itb pt. And thats not even counting the humps.

Hey Seeley, just carrying our guns around is good enough pt, lol, jk. The 31's always got up earlier, got off later, pt'd harder, and never ate at the chow hall, and man weren't our machine gun pits fun to dig, lol. OOHRAH! ha ha Love my job!
