Poolees, if you will, share your best times on the IST. How many pull-ups can you average/flex seconds? How many crunches in 2 min., and how fast can you run the 1.5 mile? I want I see how I fair against other poolees.

well, not a poolee by any stretch of the imagination, but I will post what my ist was, and then what my final PFT was

IST 5 pull-ups, 105 sit ups ( we didn't do crunchs) in 2 min and 1.5 miles in 12:25 LOl pretty horrible

By the end of boot? 20 pull ups, 18:35 for 3 miles, and 155 sit ups ( only 80 were required for a perfect score)

Fix that, Im not sure if they call them crunchs eather... Marine Corps Sit Ups maybe? Hmmm Person sitting on feet, arms crossed, up untill arms meet legs and back down to shoulder blades, repeat.

Poolee DeNichilo, dont worry about it... thats about what I was at 8 months ago. Just train hard and keep the dedication. 110% If you only give 100% you never go up. You stay the same. That extra ten percent improves you from one work out to the next

LOl, I HATE that saying. give 110% I nderstand it's meaning and what it's trying to say, and I suppose I don't really have a BETTER way to say it, but think about it! how can you if you have 100 apples, hopw can you GIVE someone 110 apples? :)

that one and the pain is temporary pride is forever one. I have always hated both of em. ( though not the meanings behind them ) :D

well... its not a math problem... :) I hate math so I can think about it differently... Ya see I see it as you give 100% , that is what you already have... thats what you can already do... the giving 110% is pushing yourself farther than youve gone before and working yourself harder so that the next time the 110% becomes the 100% and over all youll have 120 apples :) . That make any sense?

Don't want to go into debt though :p

I hear it all the time, it's just one of those things you take for what it is and don't think too hard on it. Just give it your all, and when you've done, that give it more.

Dang, you guys make me lood weak, and I started this post. I can do a 94 sec. flex arm hang (yes, I'm female), 100 crunches in 2 min., and 11:59 on the 1.5 mile. I may appear somewhat weak to you, but one of the best at my recruiting station, even compared to the guys.

we had this chick that could do 4 pull ups. i never associated much with other poolees for my whole year in DEP. I was too busy making sure all the females in my school knew who i was.

hey, that comes off sounding kinda judgmental there Pel.

As a MALE depper, I could only do 4 -5 regularly before bootcamp. By the end of it I could do my 20 with ease. Everyone has thier strengths and weaknesses.

Do the best you can, and give it your all. No one can ask for more.

There was one guy I knew in boot who could run 3 miles in 14 minutes, ( as I said, my best time was a little over 18) but when we got to Infantry school he could not keep up with me on humps. So who was the better Marine? Neither. Our strenghts and weaknesses are meant to compliment each other. We can't ALL be good at everything.

Meh, sorry sir. Its just that 4 pull ups was in 8th grade... cant remember the last time I did that. And were proud of our female dep'ers, So when they do more than some guys it makes pretty good motivation to get your rear in gear.
