The other day while searching for something, I came on something dealing with leadership.
That in turn got me thinking about "what makes a good leader as oppose to a bad leader.
The Marine Corps has been bless with good leadership.
Men such as 1st. Clifton Cates USMC, Lt. General John Archer Lejeune USMC, Lt. General Lewis B. Puller USMC, Lt. General O. P Smith USMC, Lt. General Victor Krulak USMC, General Al Gray USMC,General P.X Kelley USMC, General Charles Krulak USMC to name a few.
My own leader was 1st. Lt. Frank S. Reasoner USMC. not because he was the recipent of the Medal of Honor.
It was the qualities that I saw years before the actions he did while underfire that made him a recipent of the Medal of Honor.
He saw no need for cursing, he also sought that we improved ourselves through studying.
Much is made about Leadership Principles and Leadership Traits.
Those have to go with one's Core Values.
Most of us will never be called to make a decision on the conduct of a war or battle.
But we do have make decisions on our own personal conduct and the conduct of family members.
Those decisions must be made with a clear head and from our Core Values.
Below are some links to pages on the web dealing with leadership.
The last one is in PDF format requiring a reader.
It's on Lieutenant General John Archer Lejeune (USMC) A Study in Leadership.
It is a good read and it should be included in schools dealing with leadership in the Marine Corps.
