Gross governmental abuse. Will continue to exist, because, wtf, it's not coming out of the personal pockets of government officials. So, live it up.

Oligarchy (from Greek (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_language) ὀλιγαρχία (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E1%BD%80%CE%BB%CE%B9%CE%B3%CE%B1%CF%81%CF%87%CE%A F%CE%B1) (oligarkhía); from ὀλίγος (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E1%BD%80%CE%BB%CE%AF%CE%B3%CE%BF%CF%82) (olígos) 'few', and ἄρχω (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E1%BC%84%CF%81%CF%87%CF%89) (arkho) 'to rule or to command') is a form of power structure (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_structure) in which power (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_(social_and_political)) rests with a small number of people.

These people may or may not be distinguished by one or several characteristics, such as nobility (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobility), fame (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/famous), wealth (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wealth), education (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education), or corporate (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporate), religious (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious), political (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political), or military (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military) control.

Throughout history, oligarchies have often been tyrannical (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrant), relying on public obedience or oppression to exist. Aristotle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aristotle) pioneered the use of the term as meaning rule by the rich, for which another term commonly used today is plutocracy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plutocracy).

In the early 20th century Robert Michels (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Michels) developed the theory that democracies, like all large organizations, tend to turn into oligarchies. In his "Iron law of oligarchy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_law_of_oligarchy)" he suggests that the necessary division of labor in large organizations leads to the establishment of a ruling class mostly concerned with protecting their own power.

Sounds like today's structure of Politics...

it's always to "live high off the hog" when someone else is paying the bill, and politicians have always been quite free with a checkbook that is forever overflowing with funds, simply raise taxes...
