Phantom Blooper

This is Memorial Day weekend. You're going to head off to who knows where for a weekend filled with booze and questionable life choices.
Normally, this is marginally acceptable behavior. This weekend is different. This is not your weekend....
Every last one of you is still breathing, still drooling on the asphalt under you. Because you are still alive, it is categorically impossible for you to have given your life in honorable service to this great nation, to have given your last breath in shared misery and danger with those steely-eyed killers to your left and your right.
This is not your weekend.
This is a weekend to honor your heroes, those foul-mouthed, whiskey-swilling, hard-charging, squint-eyed bastards who made this shiat look easy.
To honor those doe-eyed mama's boys who didn't live long enough to get married to a Clarksville Trailer-Manatee and rack up $120,000 in debt on a '93 Dodge Neon and a double-wide with a tree growing up through the bathroom, but who didn't pause to blink before applying deadly fire and violence of action when faced with a determined enemy.
Go have a good time. Enjoy your weekend, but remember that it was purchased for you at great cost. Act in a manner worthy of their sacrifice.
SEMPER FI!
