I scored relatively high on my ASVAB an 89 AFQT and want to go into the EOD field 2300. Could anyone give me some information on Explosive Ordnance Disposal and what to expect as a PFC out of boot camp after I graduate?

Googled that in 30 seconds which you could have done the same.

Heres what EOD expects out of a fresh private or PFC out of boot... Nothing because it is a Lat Move MOS. So you will probably be a 2311 ammo tech which i already did a search for you too.

I was looking at 2300 - Basic Ammunition and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (GySgt–Pvt) I saw from a quick Google search. That's why I was asking about the EOD field, I did not know this was only EOD Tech. I want to be in this field it is my goal.

Guess I should have read further.

Apologies.

yes you should have....

2300 is not EOD tech only. that field includes ammo tech(2311) and EOD(2336). As a new join/PVT/PFC/LCpl. you would not be eligible for EOD tech(2336). EOD is for lat move only for NCOs/SNCOs that have some operational experience.

In other words. You must work your way up in rank, gain experience, and when you become eligible, apply to have your MOS changed to 2336. It's a gamble and may-or-may-not happen.
