NO, it not the first.
There were 4 other "Depots" before what we know as MCRD PI and MCRD San Diego.
Hope that the information on that page will explain Recruit Training History.

It is not the first, however some Marines will tell you it is the ONLY Marine bootcamp!

I was waiting for that...

As for any Woman Marine ... it IS the only boot camp!!
