Hello Marines, so Ive decided I want to enlist in the Marine Corps. My problem is I have a small gang related tattoo behind my ear.

I already know this is a disqualifier, I am no one to argue with the rules. So I am currently in the process of getting it removed. I have no criminal background, and am not in any "gang database" of any kind. Ive honestly matured greatly since I got the tattoo and is my only tattoo. But my question is, do removed tattoos have any effect on enlistment ?

Or is it more of a "if we cant see it was never there" kind of thing.

When the tattoo is fully removed .. Should i still inform my recruiter i use to have the tattoo ? Im looking for any helpful insight if possible. Thank you.

From what I have heard and what I am aware of, you still would have to get a tattoo waiver for it..??

You will probably want to go talk with an actual recruiter and get the current gouge on this though, he should be able to tell you right off the bat whether or not anything can be done for you even if it is removed
