Ok what I'm about to ask is going to make me sound dumb or a noob but I looking for clarification
I was reading the requirements for becoming a scout sniper as well as forum topics on USMCSS but do you go to a basic SS first then the USMCSS Indoc or is it all the same?
Also I understand the level of difficulty and how much luck is needed to get selected for the indoc let alone the prereq but in regards to this that I read "It is HIGHLY recommended, but not required, for the student to have completed the following MCI courses: Land Navigation, Patrolling, Calling and Adjusting Supporting Arms, and Reconnaissance Marine.* It is also recommended but not required that the student have conducted basic Scout Sniper field skills: stalks, concealment, field sketches, range cards, range estimations, and firing of the M-40A1 prior to attending the course." could you volunteer for some of these schools without out trying out or how does it work when it comes to volunteering for these schools?
I apologize if I don't make any sense
